A location that was located between 1933 and 1974 at Wagenaarstraat D 84 (later renumbered 12) in Middelburg. The Gouden Poorte, like the Werkmansvereeniging earlier, was a left-wing stronghold where the S.D.A.P. held meetings. (and later the P.v.d.A.), various trade unions and left-wing organizations. Lectures, theater and cabaret performances were also organized for which an entrance fee was charged. In addition to these expressions of a socio-cultural nature, balls were also organized and weddings and parties were celebrated - after all, there was a license for the retail sale of spirits. There are currently apartments in the building.
