This somewhat inconspicuous little chapel is located directly on the dirt road that leads to Glockenscheid. The chapel is dedicated to Saint Apollonia, who is venerated as the patron saint of dentists.

The chapel is open to all visitors.

The small Luh chapel is a holy house dedicated to St. Apollonia in Waldbreitbach village of Glockscheid. The saint venerated there was visited by dental patients and asked for relief from her pain.

The Luh chapel and a cross are located on the field path to Glockscheid. An inconspicuous little chapel that is in very good condition and pretty to look at. A bench in front of it in the shade invites you to take a break.

The construction and the structure suggest that it was built in the late 17th century. The initiative to build it probably came from the Teutonic Knights' farms in Glockscheid and on the Ackerhof. In the 1950s, the Luh chapel was restored in an exemplary manner. The chapel is dedicated to Saint Apollonia, who was said to drive away toothache. There is a belief that the name Lu or Luh is a popular abbreviation for Apollonia. But it is also possible that Lu comes from Lohe, the peeled bark of oak trees that was used in the past to tan animal hides.
