Wrynose Pass 2.5km at 11%. It's a tough climb as you can see it going on forever in front of you. It's a mental game to keep going!

A great climb of a classic Lakeland pass in both directions. Thoughest climb is east to west, west to east is shorter and more forgiving.

Supposedly this narrow road was given the name Wrynose because of its steepness, and the etymology goes back to meaning the 'Pass of the Stallion' – a strong horse was needed to get people and their goods to that top in centuries gone by. It definitely sounds plausible.
