The Centennial Path starts and ends in the Burgau car park (by the glass blowing workshop) in Monschau.

The routing is gigantic, partly over narrow and steep paths, partly over wide paths - but always quiet and not very busy. The signage is perfect: a "100" with an arrow underneath. You can't get lost even without GPS.

There are also many boards with interesting information about history and nature. One of the highlights is certainly the summit cross of the Ehrensteinley, which invites you to take a long break. The view from Engelsley above the Perlenbachtal is also impressive.

There are some places to stop for refreshments along the way on the way of the century. Below the Perlenbachtalsperre there is the Hotel-Restaurant Perlenau. Later, however, at Hof Breiterscheid there is a great milk filling station, coffee machine and vending machine sales of farm products. Pleasant resting place. Unfortunately only seating for about 4 people. The former Reichenstein Monastery, which is being renovated, also invites you to take a rest and visit. At the Norbertus Chapel, just before the monastery, there is a parking lot for hikers with information boards.

You can end the tour with a stroll through Monschau or with a visit to the glass blowing workshop. This trail is an absolute must.

On its 100th birthday, the Eifelverein from Monschau gave all hiking fans the "Jahrhundertweg" - this gift is more than successful, the hiking trail deserves at least the premium rating. The path is very well marked and signposted with the number 100, the sights are explained on information boards.

The path can be shortened or even lengthened several times along the way, and because of the inclines of ~ 460 meters and the length of ~ 15.5 km, it requires a good portion of stamina.

On the occasion of its 100th birthday in 1985, the Eifelverein Monschau gave all hikers the so-called "Century Trail".
