I was driving over an inconspicuous hill on the way to the coast and suddenly Doonagore Castle was in front of me.
The loneliness, the sea in the background, the rain and the fog and nothing that in any way suggested the 21st century.
The sea seemed unnaturally large and the castle tower seemed somehow small and lost
Absolutely unreal.
Doonagore Castle was restored in the 1970s and is now privately owned.
