Hiking
The first bridge over the Skjálfandafljót river was built in 1882. This bridge was located near the waterfall. A successor to this bridge was built in 1930. This new bridge has been converted into a pedestrian bridge and today offers beautiful views of the Godafoss. The remains of the older bridge from 1883 are still visible under the current bridge.
