Accessible from Theth after a steep climb in 1.5-2 hours, from the pass you have a great view of the surrounding peaks, the Theth Valley or the nearby Pejasee. In the summer, shepherds and their herds are up there. In 4 hours you can walk from there to Montenegro.

Driving up the Ropojana Valley, formed by a 26 km long glacier, one visits the pupil-shaped karst spring on the way, where melting snow creates an ice-cold river high up in the mountains. At the trailhead, a weathered boundary stone is the only reminder of the once tightly sealed borders of former communist Albania. Surrounded by mountains, the corridor leads past a dry lake, shepherds' huts and an abandoned military post into the heart of the Albanian Alps. Here the canine of Mount Arapi (2,217 m) stands high above Thethi National Park, forming the highest wall in the Balkans. Arriving at the Peja Pass (1,711 m), one can decide whether the summit can be conquered. Those who take a pass to the challenging summit, which is only suitable for experienced and sure-footed hikers, rest at the pass or start the descent with the riders. A steep, well-trodden caravan route leads to the local watering hole, followed by a short drive to a guest house in the center of the bustling, iconic village in the Albanian Alps.
