The Kocher rises at the foot of the Swabian Alb, where the Black and White Kochers converge near Unterkochern.

At this point, after 168 km of travel, the Kocher flows into the Neckar in Kochendorf, one of the largest tributaries of the Neckar.

It is believed that a Roman port facility once stood at this location.

Two km downstream lies the Jagstfeld district, with the confluence of the Jagst, its "twin river."

The 330 km long Kocher-Jagst cycle path is very popular.

The Kocher is 168 km long and has ten tributaries over 10 km long. It flows into the Neckar from the right near Bad Friedrichshall-Kochendorf.
At its mouth, called the Kocherspitze, the city of Bad Friedrichshall has set up a rest area with an information board.
The Jagst accompanies it on the right for long stretches of its course, which is why there are only a few larger tributaries from the right.

At its mouth, called the Kocherspitze, the town of Bad Friedrichshall has built a rest area with an information panel.

For long stretches of its course, the Jagst River accompanies it on the right, which is why there are only a few major tributaries flowing from the right.
