You can enjoy the beautiful nature here on the circular route around the Kirchensee.
The terrestrial biosphere describes the space on planet Earth in which life occurs: the space together with the entirety of terrestrial organisms and their inanimate environment that occur therein and the interactions of living beings with each other and with their inanimate environment.de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biosph%C3%A4re

The Schaalsee basin was created as a subglacial tunnel valley system during the Frankfurt ice advance. The Strangen is on the western edge of the resulting hollow shape, as is the 8.5 m deep Kirchensee, which is a former bay of the Schaalsee. The eponymous peninsula "Strangen" and an artificial dam to the south separate the Kirchensee from the Schaalsee. To the west of the peninsula, extensive bog formations have developed on shallows. Due to the immediate border location, the area was inaccessible for many years. Today it is part of the "Green Belt".The Strangenmoor was used for peat extraction and limestone mining until the 1930s. From 1926, Strangen was a popular destination with a restaurant. Today some foundation walls and remains of foundations bear witness to this. The NSG Strangen is characterized by the dense juxtaposition of different biotopes: lake areas, reed beds, fen areas, alder-birch swamp forests and succession areas on the former border strip. The diversity of species is correspondingly large. The kingfisher, oriole, nightingale, crane and bittern are representative of the rich avifauna. The occurrence of the otter, the grass snake and the adder is remarkable. The area is also inhabited by rare species of ground beetles, spiders, dragonflies and grasshoppers.A circular hiking trail leads around the Kirchensee and over the Strangen. From the observation post at the beginning of the hiking trail you have a beautiful view of the Schaalsee.
