Amsterdam Free Ferry Terminal

Depending on the route, the ferry journeys take between 5 and 14 minutes and the view from the boats over the water and the other bank is wonderful. Just do it like the Amsterdam locals who take the ferry back and forth between the banks all day as a matter of course:
When the weather is nice, let the breeze blow around your nose or make yourself comfortable inside the ferry when it rains. Riding on the free ferry is definitely part of the real Amsterdam feeling!

Since the Oranjesluizen (and the neighboring bridge) are otherwise the only way to get across the Ij on foot, you basically have to rely on the ferries to get to Amsterdam North. It works quickly and easily.
