The river's significance in Münster was complex and varied. Lifeline, part of the city fortifications, sewer or example of urban ecology, the Aa - the water - was always both a blessing and a curse. The walk shows Münster from an unusual perspective, leading to the Zwinger, St. Peter's Church and across the grounds of the former zoo to the Aasee. Idyllic corners that far too often remain hidden open up. There are artistic objects to discover, such as the bridge saint Nepomuk, but also botanical peculiarities that line the Aauferweg.
