The German Aerospace Center (DLR) maintains a major research site in Neustrelitz with approximately 110 employees. The focus here is on topics such as satellite data reception, remote sensing, space weather, navigation, maritime safety, and shipping. Several specialized institutes are located at the site, including facilities for remote sensing, communications, and solar-terrestrial physics. A special offering is the DLR_School_Lab, where children and young people gain insight into research through hands-on experiments.
