This enormous water wheel has been part of a huge restoration project that's involved reinstating a wheel here and turning it into a functioning heritage wheel. There's a information board providing historical background.

Keep a sharp eye out for it as you could easily cycle right past.

Road cycling

The new water wheel was erected in 2009 as part of a restoration project.
It's on the location of one of the original wheels of the Lisburne mine back in the 1850’s. Cafe opposite!
