Lozerheide is therefore a magnet for various breeding birds. Of the 130 breeding bird species in Limburg, 80 are found here.The ponds of Lozerheide in particular are a lively meeting place for breeding birds. The heron hides in the reeds, cormorants keep watch in the treetops, great crested grebes and various ducks bob on the water.
