Hiking

The Lukaskirche, built in 1898/99 in the neo-Gothic style, is the symbol of Stuttgart-Ostheim with its 61 meter high tower. After severe damage from the bombing raids in October 1944, it was rebuilt from 1948-1951. The new equipment was based on the earlier inventory (organ by Weigle, crucifix, principal pieces and stained glass windows under the side gallery and at the back of the nave by Helmuth Uhrig). A renovation followed in 1977-1978, during which the choir windows were newly glazed by Hans-Gottfried von Stockhausen. (source bluechurch.de)
