Great view from the small parking lot opposite the source. Above all, you should have seen the old Roman road. A little uncomfortable but in good shape.

The Pico pass is an important mountain pass in the Sierra de Gredos, between the valleys of the Alberche and Tiétar rivers. It is located at an altitude of 1,350 meters and has been a strategic communication route for centuries, a pass through the western Leonese royal glen, a variant of the Camino de Santiago and one of the best preserved Roman roads in the Iberian Peninsula.

In the port of Pico there is a restaurant, a fountain and good panoramic views of the valley of the Cinco Villas. The descent, to the south, follows the road to the entrance of Cuevas del Valle, where you take the final section of the Roman road to the center of town. The complete descent by bicycle along the Roman road from the Pico port is technical and with bags on the bike you have to be very careful to avoid damage.
