The Vinci Museum: Leonardo da Vinci (1452 - 1519), one of the most brilliant people of the Renaissance period. The most interesting of his technical sketches and inventions can be admired here in the small town of Vinci, through models and machinery - some of which are real museum pieces themselves. A museum has been set up in the restored Castello Guidi, which is well worth a visit. The hilly location of the town, surrounded by the olive groves and vineyards of the Chianti region, also contributes to a relaxing excursion.
