Opposite the parish widow's house is the old school from 1833. In the three-part half-timbered building, the children from Kriwitz, Volzendorf and Predöhl were taught by one teacher in grades 1-8. After the end of World War II, 2 teachers were temporarily employed due to the influx of refugees. Until another classroom was created in the school, the lessons took place in the confirmation hall of the vicarage.

Hiking
Diagonally opposite towards the center of the village had the inn. The post office was also housed in the "Niebuhr'schen Krug". When that ended in the mid-1970s, the famous painter and sculptor Rainer Kriester and his wife used the building. Today it is a residential building.
