The whole mile column is now located in the town center on a traffic island at the entrance to the Erlabrunn clinics. Their original location can no longer be determined.

The material is granite, obtained from different quarries. The manufacture of the column is not known.

In May 1934, the pillar at the Steindheidel junction of the road to Johanngeorgenstadt and Schwarzenber (now S272) was first rebuilt by a road master.

The fragments of probably two different whole-mile columns were found at Breitenbrunn and Oberwiesenthal.

A step was identified by the Eibenstock teacher Konrad Solbrig as a fragment of a whole-mile column and used for the new building.
