The materials needed for its construction were carried to the site on the backs of men, sailors, pensioners and even children.
The top of this eleven-metre high cross is thirty-three metres above sea level due to its location on the high dune. At the foot, a sailor and a fisherman say goodbye to their family.

The cross overlooks the sea for over 35 metres.
In addition to the classic Calvary composition, crucifix-on-Golgotha, there is also a statue of a woman surrounded by a sailor and a fisherman saying goodbye before they leave for the long fishing campaigns. This statue symbolises the pain of people and their sacrifices.
Due to its location, the Calvary is a popular place to admire the sunset on the beach on sunny days.
