The Berkenwoudse Boezem area is located between Ouderkerk aan de IJssel and Berkenwoude. This nature reserve consists of water, reed land and wet poor grassland divided over a low and high bosom. Marsh marigold rattle and painter's price do well on this marshy hayfield. About halfway along the route there is a nice bird watching spot. Bird lovers can indulge themselves here with breeding birds such as the reed warbler and the mustached and numerous water birds such as the moorhen, coot, mallard, tufted duck, mute swan and grebe. The marsh harrier can regularly be seen in the spring. This large bird of prey finds a rich food supply in the area.
