Groß Pampau Gravel Lake

Nice route along the Kiessee with some benches to linger!

From the bench you have a great view of the Kiessee Groß Pampau - a nice place for a little break.

Gravel pits are often seen as overexploitation of nature or simply as environmental destruction.
In view of the upheaval of an area, this view is understandable - but it falls far short. Because the visible incisions in the landscape are always only "temporary scars".
Extensive renaturation measures (in the case of the plant in Groß Pampau with its impressive gravel lake, for example, the creation of shallow water zones for fish and water birds) and the self-healing powers of nature that quickly set in after gravel mining have ended together create a habitat for animals and plants that have long since disappeared from the scene elsewhere.
