Embedded in the forest is the Gerresheimer Friedhof. In the middle of the cemetery grounds is the Russian Cemetery of Honor on Gallberg. 1500 Soviet prisoners of war found their final resting place there.

A little further, hidden in the forest to the left of the path, just before the first houses appear, there are 46 gravestones firmly rooted in the forest floor. They wear a moss coat and face Jerusalem. A fence protects them from intruders. It is the old Jewish cemetery, the Weyl'sche Friedhof, named after Rabbi Dr. Heinrich Weyl. He was deported to Auschwitz in 1943 and died there.

The strictly orthodox Adass Jeshurun congregation buried their dead here from 1925 to 1938. After the pogrom night in 1938, the community gave up the cemetery.
