Tilicho Base Camp is located at an altitude of 4,150 meters and is the ideal starting point to reach Tilicho Lake, which is located 800 meters higher. At Tilicho Base Camp you can find a couple of guesthouses. To reach Tilicho Lake you must leave Tilicho Base Camp at first light.

Hiking

A minimum of one night (two nights for most) at Base Camp is required for anyone making the detour to Tilicho Lake. The two large lodges offer plenty of opportunity to relax in warm lounges and as long as the water doesn't freeze (was the case for me in April) you have everything you need.
