Founded in the 12th century by Cistercian monks, this former abbey is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. No less than 900 years of history are told through the 50,000 m² of walls, stones, medieval gardens, vaults and vineyards.

The Cistercian order had these walls built in Villers-la-Ville in the 13th century. They included one of the largest abbeys in the Christian world. It was destroyed in the course of the French Revolution in 1789 - but its mighty ruins still give you goose bumps today.
