"The Weiherbachtal circular route in the Vulkaneifel does not have any major highlights, but is more suitable for coming down and relaxing. The manageable length of around eight kilometers and the moderate climbs speak for this. Nevertheless, the hike contains panoramic views that will make you look over the horizon You can wander around the landscape and take breaks to encourage you to pack provisions and enjoy a picnic outdoors.
Hikers don't have to make much effort to find their way around, as there are signs with the title showing the route. Of course, free spirits can also deviate from the path and discover the area themselves. This way you can also extend the trip.
Before that happens, however, it should start first: The intended start and end points are in Lutzerath at the tourist information center. Public transport goes to the place if you don't have your own car.
We want to leave the populated area quickly, so we move roughly northeast across meadows and fields. We quickly reach the Weiherbach, the course of which will accompany us for quite some time. The associated valley is just as tranquil and merges into a forest area. The slope runs steadily downhill.
At least up to the Erdenbach, which crosses our previous companion. It is itself surrounded by a valley and now takes the lead (the Erdenbach is on the way to the Üßbach). While the thicket spreads around it, it “carries” a strip of green with it. It also places higher demands on us and begins a manageable but longer climb.
This continues out of the forest into open space; the Erdenbach has already moved on in other directions. Instead, an attractive panorama soon opens up that invites you to spread out a picnic - as long as there is still something left of the food you brought with you.
On the last section, the Weiherbach says goodbye one last time, and the settlement slowly takes over again. Back at the starting point, several restaurants offer the opportunity to end the tour in a relaxed manner."

The Weiherbachtal is a very romantic small stream valley near Lutzerath. The circular hiking trail is really worthwhile as a short afternoon or Sunday morning tour.
