The Rothsee is the heart of the water transfer from the Danube to the Rhine-Main area. It stores the water from the Altmühl and Danube that is pumped up via the Main-Danube Canal. A very beautiful lake for all kinds of water sports or just to relax. Beautiful lawns, various restaurants and a beautiful path around the lake. With a water surface area of 2.1 square kilometers, the Rothsee is the largest natural bathing water in the district of Roth. It is divided into two parts, a pre-dam and a main dam.
