Signposts to Helvick Head, all written in Gaelic, mark Gaeltacht An Rinn, the only Irish-speaking area on the south coast, where fewer than 500 people have managed to preserve their culture and are fluent in their daily Gaelic. The road runs for almost 10 km along the sea on the hill to Helvick Head. From here, you can enjoy an extraordinary panorama over Dungarvan Bay and the south coast to Tramore, especially when the purple cliffs light up in the setting sun.

Helvick Head is a beautiful peninsula on the southern end of Dungarven Harbour. The views out to the Celtic Sea are phenomenal and well worth the slight detour.
