A very extensive area, real industrial history! First a gunpowder factory, with accommodation for the workers, villas for the officials and engineers. After the war, locomotives were built here. You really need time here and there is a lot to discover. The landmark is certainly the old water tower.

The royal Prussian powder factory near Plaue Havel was built at a very special pace. 400 factory buildings and 172 apartments were built in about a year. The water tower, 65 meters high and still a landmark of Kirchmöser today, was completed in 1916. 4000 workers and officials as well as an additional 2000 prisoners of war worked in the factory.
