The so-called Gräfenberg "Castle on the Church" was the seat of a regional court from 1808 and from 1862 to 1932 district court. In 1945 it was even a temporary hospital. Today it is the official building, the renovation was carried out in 1979/1980 by the administrative authority Gräfenberg.

The first documentary mention of the church dates from 1300. The tower basement with the three arched windows has been preserved from the original building.
The Gothic choir was built in 1462 under the local rulers Haller and Tetzel.
The current appearance of the current church is shaped by the construction around 1700, which was completed in 1705. The renovation work led to an extension and an increase in the nave. In addition, the interior (altar, pulpit and two-storey gallery) was designed in the Baroque style.
