Maglič is a medieval fortress complex in southwestern Serbia. It is situated on a hill above the valley of the river Ibar near Kraljevo and Vrnjačka Banja. The complex, which was probably built in the 13th century, was the residence of the Serbian Archbishop Danilo II (1324-1337) with its residential palace and St. George's Church. The fortress is protected by a bend in the river on three sides and by an artificial ditch on the fourth side, protecting Raszien (Raška) from the Hungarians to the north. The mighty walls with seven square defense towers and a hexagonal keep are well preserved.
