If you are visiting Studenica monastery this will complete your full experience. Saint Sava, Serbian prince Rastko Nemanjić lived 1174-1236 who was the first Archbishop of the autocephalous Serbian church, used this place for meditation and prayer. He was founder of Serbia law and most of his writing was done here. Hike is demanding but imagine monks hiking the same trail 850 years ago and you will feel enlightened.
You can access only outside of the buildings and light the candle inside the small tomb of one of the monks that lived here during the last century.
