A visit to Prague would not be complete without enjoying the spectacular view of the Strahov Monastery from Petřín Hill. This impressive view offers a unique view of the historic monastery, which was founded in the 12th century and is now considered one of the oldest and most important monasteries in the Czech Republic.

It is said that the monks of Strahov Monastery have played an important role in preserving and spreading knowledge and culture over the centuries. The impressive monastery library houses one of the largest collections of medieval manuscripts, incunabula and early modern prints in Europe.

Petřín Hill, from which you can enjoy the breathtaking view of the monastery, is a popular place for walks and picnics. The hill is surrounded by a picturesque park and also houses other sights such as the Petřín lookout tower, the Štefánik observatory and the mirror labyrinth.

To reach Petřín Hill, you can take the funicular or hike up the path through the park. The viewing platform, from which you can admire the Strahov Monastery, is freely accessible all year round. However, the best time to visit is in spring or summer, when the surrounding area is in bloom.
