The "Entringer Tor" was part of a game fence that protected the fields from game from the Schönbuch. This fence can be seen as a dotted line on Kieser's forest map from 1683. In front of the fence was a ditch, parts of which still exist today at the edge of the forest. Until 1848, only the nobility were allowed to hunt. Hunting and trapping by farmers was punished as poaching. Ultimately, the only option left for the farmers was to build a game fence.
