The Brno Reservoir (in Prantl or Prygl [1]) or the Brno Reservoir, also obsolete the Kníničská Reservoir or the Kníničky Reservoir, is the largest body of water on the Svratka River. It was created by building a dam on the 56th river kilometer of Svratka and flooding the valley with the village of Kníničky. The dam used to serve as a water reservoir for Brno (now water from the Vírská dam and water from boreholes in Březová is used), for recreation and also as a source of electricity. Most of the dam is part of the Podkomorské lesy nature park.
