When you hear 'heritage', you spontaneously think of old buildings or crafts of our (great) grandparents. Things are different in the Living Heritage Park in Puyenbroeck. There the heritage bleats and cackles, gives birth to babies and gives milk.

In this special part of the Provincial Domain - a kind of Bokrijk, but with animals - local farm animals that are threatened in their existence were given a new permanent home. No bears or tigers here, but stone rabbits, Ardennes fox heads and many other farm animals in the most colorful variants. This unique park is freely accessible to everyone.

In collaboration with the province of East Flanders, Steunpunt Levend Erfgoed vzw manages a real Living Heritage Park in the Puyenbroeck domain in Wachtebeke. A large collection of our original local varieties is permanently presented to the public. In the park you will find a whole collection: different breeds of pigeons, chickens, ducks, geese, goats, sheep, cows and draft horses. The park is freely accessible to everyone.
