The first preparations for founding a charity for what was then St. Gallus Church in Sandharlanden were made as early as 1484.
In 1982, the extension wing of the Church of St. Gallus, built in 1846, was demolished again and a modern new building with a liturgical orientation to the west was built in connection with the original alignment of the Romanesque west end.
