Phantom aircraft

The old runway in Honsem became visible again in the landscape through the “phantom plane”, a replica of a historic Belgian reconnaissance aircraft, the Renard R31. Just before WWII, the airport was built by the Belgian army and used by the Germans during the war. After the war, the airstrip lost its usefulness and largely disappeared into agricultural use.
This site was established to bring this piece of history back into view. You will find information about a bygone period just before and during WWII.
