The original castle has almost disappeared except for the keep with the stair tower (16th century). In the keep you will find a Gothic fireplace and baroque stucco from 1716 with coat of arms of the Van Afferden family. The castle is entirely surrounded by a wide moat, fed by the Wijerbeek, which flows past the castle. The castle is accessible via a stone bridge over this stream. This was once a drawbridge. On the other side of this bridge is the castle courtyard. The essentially older house from the 18th century is also still there.

The whole was extensively renovated at the end of the 19th century. For example, neo-Gothic battlements were added to the keep. The terrace also dates from this period.
