Schenklengsfeld is a municipality in the East Hesse district of Hersfeld-Rotenburg.
The large community comprises 14 districts and has around 4,300 inhabitants.
The municipality of Schenklengsfeld lies in the foothills of the Kuppenrhön between the Seulingswald in the north and the Hessian skittles in the south. About 8 km west-northwest is Bad Hersfeld and about 17 km south-southwest Hünfeld (as the crow flies). It is located on a fertile plateau. In the west, the terrain slopes down to the Fulda and in the east to the Werratal. Part of the watershed between these two rivers runs near Schenklengsfeld. The small river Solz, which flows into the Fulda in Bad Hersfeld, has its source in the neighboring municipality of Eiterfeld. The source of the Ransbach, which flows into the Werra near Philippsthal, is also here.
