Best Hikes to Knightwood Oak

Tips

  • Knightwood Oak, also known as the ‘Queen of the forest’, is more than 500 years old. With a trunk girth of 24 feet (7.4 m), it's the largest oak tree in the New Forest and is thought to be the oldest. The trail from the car park is smooth, compacted gravel and well-maintained. The huge tree is impressive up close and makes for a great picnic spot.
