"Juniper berries - also known as crammed berries - are the fruits of the evergreen juniper bush. The dried berries are a popular spice in the northern latitudes of Europe, Scandinavia and Russia. Spirits are also made from juniper berries, such as gin and genever. In natural medicine Juniper berries are used as a remedy for gastrointestinal complaints and urinary tract diseases."
