Today's church stands on the spot where a stone church was built around 1050. Around 1150 a "hall church" was built with a flat wooden ceiling. A historical portal has been preserved from this church. Extensions followed over the centuries. The last extension was made in 1964 with the addition of two asymmetrical aisles.
