    Hiking

Right next to the Heimerzheim church dedicated to Saint Kunibert, on the corner of Kirchstrasse and Bornheimer Strasse, there is a war memorial. The inscription plaque dedicates it to the fallen from three wars: 1870/71, 1914-1918, 1939-1945. In front of the towering column, which is crowned with a cross, is another element that is dominated by an eagle with wings spread wide.

The three-aisled brick hall in round arch style was built in 1846/47 according to a design by Ernst Friedrich Zwirner. The west tower is placed in front of the choir bay with the semicircular apse, the box for the patron saint and the sacristy. The tracery of the large arched windows is made of cast iron. In the airy interior, groin vaults rest over slender square pillars. The original room version was uncovered in 1962 and supplemented according to findings.
