The market fortification consists of a sandstone ashlar wall, partly plastered, with gate structures and dates from the last quarter of the 15th century and the early 16th century. Remains of the western wall from Erleinhofer Tor to Forchheimer Tor along Friedhofstraße with an interruption opposite the cemetery at the back of Erlanger Straße 16.
