Minister Achenbach mine railway bridge (on the Dortmund-Ems Canal near Dortmund-Mengede)

The Dortmund-Ems Canal Bridge number 9 is the disused Minister Achenbach mine railway bridge. At operating kilometer 7.141, it led the former railway line from Dortmund-Mengede to Dortmund-Brambauer over the canal. The steel truss bridge operated by the city of Dortmund with a span of 77.40 meters and a width of 5.00 meters was built in 1936. Today it has barriers on both sides.

It is not possible to change the side of the water here.

I all like the various bridges over the canal and, depending on the light, they are great photo opportunities.

A detour here and to the canal is worthwhile... You can drive or hike along the canal.
