Schwieringhauser Bridge (on the Dortmund-Ems Canal near Dortmund-Altmengede)
The municipal road Schwieringhauser Straße/Altmengeder Straße leads at operating kilometer 6.607 on the two-lane Schwieringhauser Bridge, which is equipped with footpaths on both sides, from Schwieringhausen to Altmenge/Mengede over the Dortmund-Ems Canal. The steel truss bridge with number 7, built in 1951, has a span of 60.60 meters and a width of 11.20 meters and is operated by the city of Dortmund.
Construction work is still taking place in the summer of 2018, resulting in a single-lane traffic system with traffic lights.
Here it is not possible to change the side of the water without climbing stairs.

The bridge is still reserved for pedestrians and cyclists. As a result, Altenmengedee Street has become a dead end and a quiet avenue.
