Mountain Biking Highlight
The Deusenberg in Dortmund Huckarde is the EDG Mountain Bike Area one of the most popular addresses for bikers especially in the eastern Ruhr area. The use is without reservation and free. From a training track to challenging single trails, everything is available and only in the spring of 2016, the trails were partially renewed! The dump does not originate in mining but is the old landfill Huckarde. It rises 55 meters over the surrounding area and from the top you have a very good view over Dortmund.

The Deusenberg (de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deusenberg) is located directly on Emscherweg (de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emscher-Weg) between the districts Huckarde and Deusen. The former landfill offers about 55 meters above the countryside lying a wonderful view of the surrounding neighborhoods. An approximately 130-meter-long staircase offers pedestrians next to a ramp that is also used by cyclists climbing the mountain, whose highest point is about 120 meters above sea level. The EDG Mountain Bike Arena, built on the mountain by the local waste management company, is a popular destination with varying degrees of difficulty for MTB riders. Here you can meet model flyers as well as walkers, who have the opportunity to visit the directly adjacent coking plant Hansa (museum). The Deusenberg is also used by paragliders.
There are no opening hours, the area is freely accessible.
