Mountain Biking Highlight
The Deusenberg in Dortmund Huckarde is one of the most popular addresses for bikers, especially in the eastern Ruhr area, with the EDG Mountain Bike Area. It can be used without prior notice and free of charge. From a training trail to demanding single trails, everything is available and some of the trails were only renewed in spring 2016! The dump does not have its origins in mining but is the old Huckarde landfill. It rises 55 meters above the surrounding area and from above you have a very good view of Dortmund.

The Deusenberg (de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deusenberg) is located directly on the Emscherweg (de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emscher-Weg) between the districts of Huckarde and Deusen. The former garbage dump is about 55 meters above the surrounding area and offers a wonderful view of the surrounding districts. A staircase about 130 meters long offers pedestrians a ramp that is also used by cyclists to climb the mountain, the highest point of which is about 120 meters above sea level. The EDG Mountain Bike Arena, created on the mountain by the local waste disposal company, is a popular destination with various levels of difficulty for MTB riders. Here you will meet model airplanes as well as walkers, who have the opportunity to visit the adjacent Hansa coking plant (museum). The Deusenberg is also popular with paragliders.
There are no opening times, the area is freely accessible.
