The Steinmandl is a waymarker, lucky charm and protector of hikers.
The rules for building a stone mandrel are simple, with at least as many stones stacked on each other as the number of hikers building it. If a larger Mandl should be built, the number of stones must always be divided by the number of hikers. This means that in 3 hikers a stone mandrel of 3, 6, 9, 12, etc. stones can be built.
