The Battenfels-Wiese Memorial to the Fallen is one of the largest memorials in the district - with its four pillars connected by pointed arches, it measures 10 meters high. The memorial was erected in 1935 to commemorate the 400 fallen soldiers of the First World War. The first redesign took place in 1956 in order to remember the victims of the Second World War.
Since 1956, the memorial has been used annually for Remembrance Day commemorative events.
